In November 2020, Yasushi Ide released his first album in eight years, "Cosmic Suite." Led by Jeff Mills, the album features many artists from Japan and abroad, and is a 36-minute instrumental that crosses a variety of genres, including Jazz, House, Reggae, Funk, and Techno, and has received a great response both in Japan and overseas.

After the release of "Cosmic Suite," Ide immediately began working on the sequel, "Cosmic Suite 2," with his friend Watusi. The project was to take Cosmic Suite to a new dimension with the participation of UA, RECK (FRICTION), Josh Milan, who was nominated in two categories for the Grammy Awards this year, living legends Afrika Bambaataa and Don Letts, and respected artists from Japan and abroad. As the name Suite suggests, the songs are developed with a classical suite in mind.

The artwork was designed by Josué Thomas, an artist who is active across the worlds of fashion, music and art, and is also a friend of the late Virgil Abloh (he also participated in the first track, Poetry Reading), and the founder of the globally acclaimed fashion brand GALLERY DEPT.

Cosmic Suite 2 is a work that embodies the Universal Music Connection proposed by Ide and Josué Thomas, and is a new message album from Ide that is conscious of a new departure, a "New Beginning," while confronting the COVID-19 pandemic.
