It remains one of the most sampled songs in hip-hop music, and is still loved around the world.
He is a living legend who co-wrote the song "Genius of Love" by Tom Tom Club and won a Grammy Award as an engineer for Black Uhuru's "Anthem." He is also known as an engineer for Grace Jones and the B-52's. Producer and engineer Steven Stanley.
In recent years, he has mainly been working in Jamaica, but this work was born from a love call from Yasushi Ide!

This is a completely new, truly Cosmic Disco Dub, which reconstructs the backing track material of "Yasushi Ide/Cosmic Suite 2" released in 2022, dubs it, and elevates it to another dimension with Steven's unique dubby reverb. For example, it is the birth of a next-level future classic that is similar to "No Protection," a remix of one album by Mad Professor of Massive Attack's masterpiece "Protection."

"For Ide-san's Cosmic Suite 2 project, I worked on each song one by one. I waited until I felt the spirit at home, usually in the middle of the night when everyone was asleep, opened the files in Pro Tools, let the spirit work, and worked on it. In most cases, I used the tracks provided, but when I felt it wasn't right (from my perspective), I analyzed it and made changes to make it sound better.
Sometimes when I thought a section of a song needed a melody, rhythm, instrument or vocal, the "Spirit" would tell me what to play or sing and I would go ahead and do it. Then when everything sounded good and interesting, I would go to a "real" studio and enhance it with a proper mix."


A masterpiece that reminds me of PADLOCK, engineered by Stephen Stanley. I'm grateful to myself for being the last one to have a seat, and I've included all the songs in my summer 2023 playlist.
